Joseph McCarthy is a commercial lawyer who joined the firm in 2001. After leaving us and spending 3 years at a mid-tier firm between 2004 to 2006, Joseph re-joined our firm in 2006 and now acts in a range of general business and transactional matters.
Joseph specialises in mergers and acquisitions with a focus on the sale and purchase of small to medium-sized businesses, especially in the pharmacy and hospitality industries. He has extensive experience in a range of commercial areas including:
- purchase and sale of companies and businesses
- transaction financing and securities arrangements
- formation of partnerships, joint ventures, trusts and shareholders agreements
- corporate structuring and restructuring
- corporations, trade practices, foreign investment and industry-specific compliance
- drafting and negotiating all kinds of supply agreements
- leasing, franchising, intellectual property and licensing
- brand protection and development including trade mark, domain and business name registration
Joseph strives to combine his strong legal knowledge with a keen commercial focus gained over years of guiding clients through various-sized transactions, from due diligence through to contract negotiations, financing and completion.
